Tradition & Culture in Tsum Valley
Tsum Valley is mostly influenced by Tibetan Buddhists culture. The isolation of this region has preserved the tradition and culture of this region. People still live the same as they used to do hundreds of years back. People residing here have there own dialect, culture, art, and religion. They follow a completely different lifestyle than us. All the brothers in a family get married to a single girl, which is known as polyandry. We will get to witness ancient Tibetan Buddhist shrines, chortens, prayer walls, centuries-old monasteries, and kaanis.
Accommodations
We will be staying in 2 or 3-star hotels in Kathmandu. During the Tsum Valley Trek, we will stay in the guesthouse. The room will be small with little furniture, bed & blanket. All the accommodations are on a twin-sharing basis. On special request, single rooms can be arranged in the cities. However, single rooms might not be available all the time due to the limited service on higher elevations. Please understand that the services in the guesthouse will be very basic and also all the teahouse does not come with attached washrooms.
