Everest Base Camp Trekking Via Gokyo

  • Day 01 : Arrival in Kathmandu (1350m)

    Upon arrival, You will be picked up by one of our representatives from the Tribhuvan International Airport. He will take you to your hotel in a private bus/van. The rest of the day is free for you to rest. In the evening, you will meet with your guide and end your day with a traditional welcome dinner.

    • Day 02 : Sightseeing of Kathmandu valley, preparation for trek

      We will wake up early in the morning and have our breakfast. After that, we will go on the guided sightseeing tour where we will see the famous UNESCO World Heritage Sites. We will visit the sacred Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa, Swayambhunath, Kathmandu Durbar Square, Patan Durbar Square, and Bhaktapur Durbar Square. Later in the evening, we will prepare for our trek and do the last minute shopping if needed.

      • Day 03 : Fly to Lukla & then trek to Phakding (2,610m.)

        We will head to the airport and fly to Lukla. The flight will be scenic and we will get to see stunning views of hills, rivers, and snow-capped mountains. After landing at the airport, we’ll have breakfast and head out of the town. Lukla lies about 1000 m higher than Phakding at an altitude of 2850 m. Making a downhill climb and Following the Dudh Koshi river, we cross a suspension bridge over it. Then make an uphill climb in the trails till we reach Ghat (2530 m). From here, we make a descent till the Dudh Koshi River and cross it. Then walking along the bank of the river, we make a slight climb and arrive at Phakding.

        • Day 04 : Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,440m)

          Today we will be the trekking from Phakding to Namche Bazaar. After having breakfast, we’ll be heading out of the small town, in a crisscross forest path of pines. We continue walking the route that goes to the Benkar valley. Continuing in this path leads into the Sagarmatha National Park where we’ll register trekking permits at the checkpoint in Monjo. Gradually making a steep accent in the trails we arrive at Namche bazaar. This beautiful town is home to the Sherpa community and the gateway to various trekking routes of the Everest region. We’ll be staying overnight at teahouse/lodge in Namche bazaar.

          • Day 05 : Acclimatization day at Namche Bazar (3,440m)

            Namche Bazaar is a thriving Sherpa town in the Everest Region that can only be reached on foot (or by helicopter). It's a common rest stop for acclimatization, which include one night stay before the trail ascends to greater heights. Make your day in town count with these activities, have a short hike, visiting the Oldest House in town, from cultural sight, learning about Sherpa history and Himalayan views.

            • Day 06 : Trek to Dole (4,110m)

              Namche Bazaar to Dole is a beautiful trial. From Namche, the wide and scenic beautiful trial continues to kyanjuma valley. The incredible views of Thamserku, Kongde, Ama Dablam, Lhotse and Mt. Everest from the trail as we walk to Kyanjuma. From there, the trail divides into two wings: one to Everest Base Camp and the other to Gokyo. We’ll be trekking along the Gokyo trial. From there, the trial descends to Dudh Koshi river which passes under the shades of Rhododendron, Juniper, and coniferous trees. Green pastures along the trail are the grazelands of Yaks. Finally, the trail meets Dole. The views of Khumbila and Tawoche peak from Dole looks incredible. 

              • Day 07 : Trek to Machhermo(4,410m)

                From Dole, the trail takes a steep climb through Lhabarma and Luza. The trail is highly scenic and peaceful. Smell the fragrance of Scrub Junipers as we walk through the amazing trails. Looking deep down we’ll see Dudh Koshi. The trail continues to Macchermo. From a ridge above Machhermo, we can see an enthralling view of Mt. Thamserku.

                • Day 08 : Trek to Gokyo (4,760m)

                  From Macchermo, the trail takes an ascent to a scenic ridge. From there, the trail becomes steeper while we climb to the terminal moraine of the Ngozumpa Glacier. Along the trail, there is the first Gokyo lake. And, there is Gokyo! A beautiful small village situated on the shore of the beautiful Gokyo third lake, Dudh Pokhari. From the hill close to Gokyo village, Ngozumpa glacier is visible. The hill is the most beautiful viewpoint of Ngozumpa glacier.

                  • Day 09 : Free day to explore in Gokyo, Gokyo-Ri (4,760m).

                    The best acclimatization schedule for Everest base camp requires more time on the trek to Everest. It’s simple, give yourself more time at critical acclimatization points along the trail, and you give yourself a better chance of a safe and successful trek. Especially in Gokyo (4,750m, 15,583ft) where we will spend a night at this critical height. With the Gokyo Ri above, Gokyo Village showcases jaw-dropping Himalayan panoramas. It’s the second acclimatization day and we adapt to the surroundings while watching spell-binding vistas.

                    • Day 10 : Trek to Thangnak(4,110m)

                      After the acclimatization in Gokyo-Ri, the trial elongates towards Thangnak. The trial is short in distance. The views of Mt. Cho Oyu, Everest, Lotse, and Makalu look closer and fantastic from the rugged trials. Thangnak is the eastern part of Gokyo and is a beautiful place.

                      • Day 11 : Trek to Dzongla (4,700m)

                        Thangnak to Dzongla is a toughest trek! The trial is filled with boulders and then followed by a steep climb to Cho La pass. The rocks are icy and slippery. Colorful prayer flags flutter in the rhythm of the wind at the top of Cho La and as the trial passes down amazing view of Ama Dablam is visible. The trial decends down to meet Dzongla. Dzongla ia a beautiful place with incredible views of Mt. Ama Dablam, Cholatse, lobuche and Pheriche, a beautiful village in Khumbu.

                        • Day 12 : Trek to Lobuche (4,910m)

                          The trial from Dzongla to Lobuche is an easy one. From Dzongla, The trial decends slightly to the footsteps of peak Awi. From there, the short descent through beautiful scene of Mt. Cholatse and Tawache goes ahead towards Lobuche. Lobuche peak appears more clear and beautiful. The splendid trial finally reaches Lobuche.

                          • Day 13 : Trek to Gorakshep and hike to Kalapathar (5,147m)

                            From Lobuche, the trial passes through amazing landscapes. Along the trial, the view of Mt. Everest, Nuptse, Lingtren, Khumbuste and Pumori becomes more prominent. From Lobuche, the trial heads towars Gorakshep. From Gorakshep, the trail climbs up to Kalapathar. Kalapathar is the best viewpoint of Everest.

                            • Day 14 : Trek to Everest Base Camp and return to Pheriche (4,280m).

                              From Kalapathar, the trial steadily passes ahead to the Everest Base Camp. The base camp is a dream destination of enthusiastic trekkers from around the world. From the base camp, Mt. Everest, the highest peak in the world rises. After reaching EBC we will then descend to Pheriche. Pheriche ia a village in the Khumbu region, a popular stop for trekkers and climbers. Upon reaching Pheriche, we’ll be staying overnight at teahouse/lodge.

                              • Day 15 : Trek back to Namche Bazaar (3,440m)

                                The last arch of Everest Base Camp via Gokyo trek is Namche. The trial passes through same beautiful villages like Solmari and Pangboche. Namche is the major trading hub in Khumbu. Trekking from Namche to Gokyo is an incredible journey. We’ll spend the night at treehouse/lodge.

                                • Day 16 : Trek back to Phakding(2,610m)

                                  On the early morning after having breakfast we’ll be trekking back to Phakding. While returning, we will get to see stunning views of hills, rivers, and snow-capped mountains.

                                  • Day 17 : Trek back to lukla (2,800m)

                                    Lukla lies about 1000m higher than Phakding at an altitude of 2850m.We’ll make an uphill climb in the trials to reach back Lukla.

                                    • Day 18 : Fly back to Kathmandu

                                       Lukla is perched on the side of a mountain. There is one runway that slopes upward into the side of the mountain. This incline helps to slow down landing aircraft and gives a speed boost to taking off aircraft. Once the runway runs out it is just a freefall to the valley floor below. We’ll be flying back to Kathmandu from Lukla.

                                      • Day 19 : Departure

                                        Upon reaching Kathmandu, we will head to the hotel and rest for the day. In the evening, we will have a farewell dinner and our representative will drop you in the Airport.
